Registration open for COVID-19 & Society online course on edX

UBC Sociology Professor Katherine Lyon’s COVID-19 & Society edX course asks what the pandemic can teach us about ourselves and the societies we live in. This innovative and timely course offered during the summer and fall terms at UBC is now available for the global public. Participants around the world will analyze how coronavirus impacted social inequalities, and what we can do about it. This course, regardless of your academic background, will teach you core ways of approaching health, climate change, and social justice in the COVID-19 era.

“The course was very popular with and impactful for UBC students across Arts, Science, and Business. Since COVID-19 affects us all in different ways, I created a version of the course that is free and available for the global public. The course offers a forum for knowledge exchange and community building in this time of physical distancing.”
