Katherine Lyon’s COVID-19 & Society online course will be returning for Winter Term One.
This exciting new online class exploring the impacts of COVID-19 as a global public issue filled up quickly when we opened registration for Summer Term Two. Students will now have another opportunity to join this conversation. UBC Sociology is thrilled to announce Katherine Lyon’s COVID-19 & Society online class will run during Winter Term One.
COVID-19 & Society invites students to examine COVID-19 as a global public issue, considering how pandemics inform social inequality, interpersonal interaction and societal change locally and internationally. Students will explore the impact of COVID-19 on institutions such as media, family, work, and healthcare, with attention to implications for marginalized groups.
Pre-registration for COVID-19 & Society will opening today at 4 pm and will close on June 23 at 7 am.
One-hundred and fifty seats will be reserved for pre-registration. The remaining 150 seats will be available through standard UBC registration procedures.
Registration is open to all undergraduate students at UBC, and no prerequisites are required.
