Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Amira Halperin, along with Professor, Kerry Greer, arranged for students to visit Vancouver’s City Hall on April 9th. These students, several of whom were from Prof. Greer’s Introduction to Sociology course, were given the opportunity to have a tour and attend a short Question & Answer period with Vancouver Mayor, Kennedy Stewart. They discussed everything from why the University of British Columbia is not part of Vancouver, to how the federal housing policies from the 1990s are still affecting homelessness in Vancouver today.
