Congratulations to Professors Andrew Jorgenson and Clayton Childress!
They were both awarded the Hampton New Faculty Grant, a $10,000 grant awarded to support the early stages of research for new faculty members hired within the last two years.
For Professor Childress, the awarded funds will go towards his research is on sentiments and meaning making in the U.S. and Canada for iconic historical figures, and what this may tell us about collectivities and divisions in societies.
Professor Jorgenson‘s grant will be used to support a part-time graduate research assistant to collaborate on the preliminary stages of a major research project at the Climate & Society Lab. This project will advance the research on the anthropogenic drivers of climate change, focusing on how forms of income and wealth inequality, democratization and political inequality, international trade, and renewable energy consumption shape the relationship between economic growth and the carbon pollution of nations.
