The Department of Sociology is pleased to announce the Martha Foschi Award for Excellence in Research and Teaching 2017, has been presented to Prof. Rima Wilkes. The award was presented to Prof. Wilkes in a ceremony on February 7th.
Martha Foschi Award for Excellence in Research and Teaching: The endowment was established by the UBC Department of Sociology to honour the many accomplishments of Dr. Martha Foschi. This is a bi-annual award which recognizes excellence in sociological research and teaching. Dr. Foschi has played a leading scholarly role at UBC. She worked with students and conducted social psychological experiments designed to add to our knowledge of significant social processes. Her research has been published widely and cited by colleagues around the globe. Dr. Foschi touched the lives of many in very positive and beneficial ways. She continues to be a great mentor, having influenced the careers of countless numbers of students.
