This Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies grant supports faculty members at UBC working in collaboration with a community or partner organization, to address issues of societal importance through innovative, interdisciplinary and academically rigorous research projects with a view toward research solutions that can be adopted by the end-users or target communities. The award will support Dr. Richardson’s ongoing project examining the potential individual and public health benefits of changing the timing of income assistance receipt for people who use illicit drugs, a project that enjoys the close collaboration of Vancouver’s Pigeon Park Savings and the Portland Hotel Society.
Dr. Richardson has also been awarded supplemental funding from the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research, who is partnering with the Wall Solutions Initiative, to hire a knowledge translation broker to evaluate the implementation of the project.
