Maëlle Richard awarded the Carol Matusicky Prize in Family Studies



Congratulations to undergraduate student Maëlle Richard who was awarded the Carol Matusicky Prize in Family Studies. The $300 prize is presented in honour of Dr. Carol Matusicky’s tenure as Executive Director of the B.C. Council for Families. It is awarded to an undergraduate student in Family Studies.

Maëlle Richard is a French international student at UBC who has been living in Canada since 2016. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies. She is a fervent mental health advocate who has been volunteering with Speakeasy as peer support on campus to enhance individuals’ well-being within the community. In September, Maëlle will start a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Adler University and is planning to specialize in systemic approaches with families and couples.
