Congratulations to Prof. Lindsey Richardson who was awarded a Killam Research Fellowship

UBC Sociology is excited to announce Prof. Lindsey Richardson was awarded a Killam Research Fellowship as part of the UBC 2020 Faculty Research Awards.

The Killam Research Fellowships provide support to scholars of exceptional ability by granting them time to pursue research projects of broad significance and widespread interest within the disciplines of the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, health sciences, engineering, or studies linking any of these disciplines.

During her scheduled study leave, Dr. Richardson will explore whether the complex findings of her experimental research on the relationship between income drug-related harm and assistance payment timing and frequency, forthcoming in The Lancet Public Health, are portable to other contexts. Pandemic-permitting, she will spend much of her study leave examining the health equity, experiential and socioeconomic implications of potential income assistance reform as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Southern California’s Department of Preventive Medicine and the Institute for Prevention Research at the Keck School of Medicine.

Congratulation Dr. Richardson and thanks for all the amazing contributions you make to our students and to the department as a whole.
