UBC Sociology and East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) sign cooperation agreement
In January 2015, UBC Sociology signed a 3 year cooperation agreement with ECUST’s Sociology Department to promote faculty and graduate student exchanges, as well as joint research efforts. UBC Sociology welcomes Catherine Corrigall-Brown on its faculty. A political sociologist, Dr. Corrigall-Brown was recently awarded a SSRHC collaborative grant with two colleagues (Dominique Clement – Alberta and Howard Ramos – Dalhousie). The project for the nearly $400,000 award is titled “State Funding of Social Movements in Canada.”
