Join UBC Sociology and Letta Page, senior managing editor of Contexts: Sociology for the Public, for a session exploring the radical act of clear, persuasive, and story-forward writing within and beyond traditional academic outlets. We’ll talk tips and tricks for crafting lively and accessible work, setting aside more than half the session for participants to “ask the editor” anything their writerly heart desires!
Letta Page is an academic editor with 25 years of experience, eight inside a sociology journal that aims to engage broader publics. She is known for her “careful and stylish” work, focused on centering stories to captivate and convince readers, from disciplinary specialists to journalists, students, and curious friends and family. In addition to her work with Contexts and as an independent book editor, she is a founding editor and producer of TheSocietyPages.org and Meal Magazine, a founder of BoNA and First Amendment Arts (now Co-Exhibitions) in Minneapolis, MN, and the team copywriter for Grammy-winning comedy label Stand Up! Records.
