

Congratulations to UBC Sociology Professor Anne Martin-Matthews on her 25th year at UBC! Professor Martin-Matthews is an outstanding researcher and wonderful colleague who has been a long-time champion of the study of health and aging.
Professor Martin-Matthews‘ research is focused on the critical importance of aging and health in modern society. Her research contributions to this area have centred the importance of aging in our understanding of health and the life-course. She has also made significant contributions in academic and research administration, mostly recently serving as the inaugural Associate Vice-President Health at UBC (2019-2022). Dr. Martin-Mathews was inducted to the Order of Canada in 2019 in recognition of these significant contributions.
