The Graduate Student Council of Sociology (GSCS) invited you to participate in the 2026 March Hot Takes Series events.
The GSCS Hot Takes Series involves faculty members sharing their hot takes on aspects of academia with graduate students in our program. The objective is two-fold:
- For graduate students to meet and network with faculty members, which may be particularly useful if you are looking for committee members or just want to get to know our professors.
- For graduate students to learn how to thrive as a sociologist, beyond classroom-skills.
The March Hot Takes event will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM at Koerner’s Pub. We will be joined by Professors Kimberly Huyser and Lindsey Richardson to hear their hot takes on funding and practising sociology.
